Paul Abrams has had a long and successful career in healthcare finance. His career includes fourteen years as Vice President of Finance/CFO at New York City hospital, and Controller and Assistant Controller at two other New York based teaching hospitals.
Paul acquired Financial Medical Systems in October 1993. At that time FMS was a small, local company with 10 employees. The majority of its clients were located in New York City and Long Island. under his leadership the company has grown to a new prominence in the industry, with over 160 employees currently located at both the corporate headquarters in Hauppauge, New York and at vaious client sites throughout the Northeastern USA.
Paul has served as President of the New York Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and on six other healthcare committees. He has been an adjunct professor at St. John's University, The New York Institute of Technology, and Bernard M. Barusch College's Graduate Program. He has an undergraduate degree in Accounting from Long Island University and a masters degree in Healthcare Administration.
